We human beings are a majestic paradox. Within us burns a divine soul, radiant and fiery, always yearning to rise higher and draw closer to the Infinite. Yet alongside it dwells an animal soul, grounded in earthiness and drawn to comfort, pleasure, and the pull of the material.

It would be easy to assume that life’s purpose is to escape the animal and cling only to the divine. But the mystics reveal something far more radical. Kabbalah teaches that hidden within the very earthiness of the animal soul lies a power greater than the G-dly soul itself. When guided, this raw energy can lift us to heights we could never reach on spiritual fire alone.

The secret is not to silence the animal, but to channel it, to direct its passion and its force. And Kabbalah shows us the way.
