Here's the blotter update...

I find myself with a great deal to say about this release, but I think that for this update, I'll stick to the broad headlines and save the more detailed thoughts for the blog post. In terms of its olfactory profile, this remains green green green all the way through, which, as I said during the broadcast, is an accomplishment in itself. Certainly, that penetrating greenness of the opening (too harsh, perhaps?) becomes softer, but its essential character doesn't disappear, linking skillfully with the musks and mosses to sustain the effect of the florals in the mid-section. I wonder how long Malle and Flipo had to work to get the drydown right, but their efforts have paid off: contrary to many compositions in the genre, Synthetic Jungle never 'falls apart' and remains true to its identity to its final stages.
