TET Exam Mandatory - The central government is preparing to take a major decision to improve the education system. The National Council for Teacher Education has proposed new rules for teacher recruitment. As per the proposal, TET has been made compulsory from secondary level i.e. class IX to higher secondary i.e. class XII. Passing TET (Teacher Eligibility Test/TET) will also be made mandatory for recruitment of teachers from classes 9 to 12. It is expected to be implemented from the academic year 2024-25. Till now TET is mandatory for teachers up to class VIII. Initially this decision will be implemented only at the central level. Later it will be introduced at the state level as well.
