Dak Dillon Photography hosted a two-day photo special at the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat in Essex, Connecticut. The event featured two of the tourist railroad’s steam locomotives, 2-8-2 Mikado #40 pulling a slow local freight and 2-8-0 Consolidation #97 hauling a fast commuter train, presented in this 2-chapter video. Both trains traverse the scenic Connecticut riverside route, making their way out from Essex Station northward towards Goodspeed Station in Haddam. While the fall foliage was yet to arrive in full force that early in October, partly due to the railroad’s preparations for its busy Christmas season, there were still pockets of vibrant yellows and oranges that added a seasonal touch as the steam trains thunder down the line.
