We were very saddened to hear about the passing of legend Albert Okura recently. Albert was a very special gentleman and he will be missed greatly. Albert was founder of the Juan Pollo restaurant chain, owner of the original McDonald's Museum in San Bernardino, Route 66 preservationist and successful author. Our prayers and thoughts are with Albert's family, his employees, countless friends and everyone who loves Route 66 and Amboy as much as we do.
Many thanks to Roy's Motel and Cafe Manager, Nicole, for her heartfelt tribute.

When Roy’s Motel is not ground zero for multiple thriller film shoots or welcoming the throngs of dusty tourists getting their fair share of the Route 66 experience, the quiet of Amboy settles in all around.
The solitude is so profound it’s almost deafening. The peace of the ghost town with its long-abandoned St. Raymond Church and nearby pioneer graveyard consumes you. It invites you to explore and renew. Give yourself time to absorb this little time capsule of a town.
Thank you for joining us as we explore the mystery and majesty of the Mojave.
