At RIBiLT 2018, Professor Jeannette Littlemore, Professor of Applied Linguistics of the University of Birmingham in the UK, talks about the idea of embodied metaphor. She explains how words, images or sounds can trigger physical and emotional responses in our brains, and suggests that such associations can vary across individuals of different gender, and cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
