Of all the titles sitting under the immersive sim or 0451 umbrella, Thief and Thief 2 are at the very top. While both are amazing games, one has to be better...which one is it?

In this Thief 1 and Thief 2 analysis, we'll break down Thief Gold and Thief 2 level by level, take a look at the overall pacing and structure of levels in both games, and make the decision of which game is better. It wasn't easy taffers!

Thief Gold and Thief 2 were developed by Looking Glass Studios, and one of the classics in the immersive sim genre / 0451 style, and gaming altogether. It really comes down to if you prefer more atmospheric, maze-like levels (which can be its greatest strength, or weakness) in Thief Gold, or if you prefer more tightly condensed levels all focused on thieving in Thief 2.
