Stanisław Modzelewski, known as the “Vampire of Gałkówek”, was a Polish serial k*ller active near Łódź between the 1950s and 1967.
He murdered at least seven women, attacking them at night in isolated areas.
The nickname “vampire” did not refer to blood-drinking, but was used by media and investigators to describe the predatory, relentless nature of his crimes and the fear they spread across the region.
He was arrested in 1967, convicted, and executed in 1969.
