We visit the beautiful ruin of Rait castle, situated near Nairn in the Scottish Highlands to uncover a story of bloodshed and revenge between the Scottish clans of Mackintosh and Cummings. similar to the game of thrones red wedding storyline, Rait's story includes a romantic element with a sad ending. The castle has been empty and abandoned since the mid 15th century and is free to visit however please note the castle is on private land (we found the landowners to be very friendly and accommodating). So as not to ruin it for everyone else please make sure you close all gates behind you and take away all your rubbish. If you don't the handless rait castle ghost will surely haunt you!
