Описание: This session explores how the human right to housing can be advanced through access to justice and government accountability. The Federal Housing Advocate will explain how individuals and communities can influence housing policy by making rights-based submissions, which directly shape federal recommendations—particularly around urgent issues like encampments. A representative from the Toronto Housing Unit will join to share how the right to housing can be operationalized at the municipal level, using Toronto’s encampment response as a case study. Attendees will leave with practical tools to hold all levels of government accountable, from federal policy to local action on the ground.
