In this episode, we explore Indore and its surroundings — from historic forts and peaceful ghats to legendary street food that makes Indore one of India’s favourite food capitals.

After a comfortable stay and a wonderful breakfast at Hotel Sayaji, Indore, we begin our day by driving to Maheshwar Fort, located on the banks of the holy Narmada River. Maheshwar is deeply connected to Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, and walking through the fort, temples, school built by her, and the serene ghats feels like stepping back in time. The calm, spiritual vibe of the ghat is something that truly slows you down and makes the journey special.

Post Maheshwar, we return to Indore to visit Rajwada Palace, the historical heart of the city and a symbol of the Holkar dynasty. The contrast of old-world architecture surrounded by a busy modern city makes Rajwada a must-visit place in Indore.

No trip to Indore is complete without exploring its street food scene. We dive into the famous Chappan Dukaan, trying multiple local favourites, followed by a visit to Sarafa Bazaar. Since our visit coincided with Diwali, not all stalls were open — but we share an honest, real experience of what we could explore and taste.
