Last month I got hold of an Alcatel VT258 terminal which has a built in modem. Since then I've been trying to get it to work with my PBX, however it didn't want to connect to any modem I have here. This video shows it does actually work.
To test that the terminal does work I connected it to Telstar https://glasstty.com/ by dialing in to an actual telephone number that Telstar provides and having a browse around.
Now I know this actually does work, I can continue to try to get it working locally, as the terminal also supports both 40 and 80 column Ascii connections as well as Prestel/Minitel modes.
