🦷Sensory-Friendly Dentist Visit | What Helped My Autistic Child

Описание: Taking my non-verbal, autistic child with extreme sensory sensitivities to the dentist hasn't been easy---but today was a success.

We found a dental clinic that uses a papoose board, which is a medical stabilization device, a cushioned board with Velcro straps flaps and straps, used to temporarily and safely restrain uncooperative or special needs patients (especially children) during necessary medical or dental procedures to prevent injury to themselves or staff by limiting movement without excessive force.

This is what support can look like when traditional methods don't work. Every autistic child is different, and this is what works for ours. 💙
