Bengaluru's Central Crime Branch has arrested a couple from Mysuru, Shivakumar and Ramya, for running a hi-tech illegal manufacturing unit in Tiruppur, producing adulterated Nandini ghee. Earlier, four others, including a KMF distributor, were arrested in connection with the racket. Authorities have seized 8,136 litres of adulterated ghee worth ₹1.26 crore, four vehicles, and large quantities of coconut and palm oil. Bank accounts worth ₹60 lakh have been frozen, suspected to be proceeds from the crime. Investigations reveal a large network involved in producing and distributing fake ghee.
