C&I wants to provide our service users with the best and safest care possible. That is the reason why we are one of the first mental health Trusts in the country to adopt Safewards.
Safewards are interventions which are proven to reduce conflict on inpatient wards. C&I’s interventions were developed by studying best practice on mental health wards across the country.
Our all women Rosewood unit in the Huntley Centre at St Pancras Hospital will be the first ward to implement the interventions.
C&I, like all Mental Health organisations, has incidents of patient to patient conflict as well as disagreement between staff and patient. Safewards is one approach to try and address these issues.
Here is a video we produced to help with that initial roll out. (In due course we will be updating the video as rollout progresses across our Trust.
