Nikola Tesla Built a Tower to Give the Entire World Free Electricity

Описание: In 1901, Nikola Tesla built the Wardenclyffe Tower on Long Island, with a vision of beaming power and information wirelessly to the entire world, for free. His backer J.P. Morgan withdrew, reportedly because there was no way to meter free electricity. The money ran out, the tower was never completed, and in 1917 it was torn down for scrap. Today only Tesla's laboratory survives. His promise of free wireless power was never proven, and the tower was never switched on.
