At a court hearing or trial, the process generally involves the following steps:

👉Arrive at the Courthouse: Locate your specific courtroom as mentioned in your paperwork, including the judge's name and courtroom division.
👉Check-In: Arrive before the hearing starts to check in, usually with the court clerk. You'll find your case number on a docket list, which indicates the order in which cases are called.
👉Wait for the Judge: The judge will enter and take control of the courtroom. It’s important to remain silent and attentive.
👉Introduction to the Judge: When your case is called, approach the judge’s bench and introduce yourself, addressing the judge as "Your Honor."
👉The Judge Leads the Hearing: The judge will guide the conversation, asking for information from both sides. If the judge asks you a question, respond respectfully and clearly. Don’t interrupt others and wait for your turn to speak.
👉Ruling: The judge will make a ruling, which might involve setting another trial date or making a decision in the case.
