For 30 years, I’ve suffered with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) — though for 28 of those years, it was a "nameless beast" of an undiagnosed chronic illness.
For more than a decade, I carried a specific phrase that became my mantra:
“I know the answer is right around the corner; I just don’t know how long the block is.”
I didn’t know where it came from, but it carried me through. Recently, I heard the song “You Don’t Leave Me” by Selah. It’s a song about the Israelites wandering in the desert, believing the promised land was just ahead... and I was wrecked.
I finally realized that for the 30 years I was in the desert of "Mast Cell Mayhem," I was never abandoned.
In this video, I’m sharing my story of enduring hope, unexpected discoveries, and the promise that even in the depths of chronic illness, we are never walking alone.
