Описание: Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 3 January 2026. We begin today's video with a big hailstorm over Kempton Park and Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province of South Africa today. Rain further east to Ladysmith in the KZN Province, today. Enjoying time next to the pool at ATKV Drakensville - Bergville. Preserved railway in the old locomotive shed, now a Checkers Outdoor shop at Paardevlei in Somerset West. University of Cape Town at the Sarah Baartman Hall in the Upper Campus. Rain also in Pretoria. We spent time at a shipwreck on the beach in Kommetjie, Western Cape Province. The Olifants River remains in flood within Kruger National Park. Vaalrus Resort along the Vaal River, and we show you more from across SA Today.

The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
Severe storms are expected today across most of Gauteng Province, northern and central Mpumalanga Province, and southwestern and south-central Limpopo Province with a Level 2 warning for heavy rain that’ll flood vulnerable areas and damage homes and infrastructure, along with strong damaging winds, minor hail, and frequent lightning, while fire danger is extremely high over the Northern Cape Province so no outdoor burning whatsoever.

Also in this video, is traffic at Beaufort West from Cape Town side. A queue more than 10 km going into town. We end the video with a drive through Pretoria in the Gauteng Province of South Africa.
