Meghalaya, which means the "Abode of Clouds", is one of the seven North-Eastern state of India. It is famous for its high rainfall, subtropical forests and biodiversity.

In this episode, we begin our much awaited Excursion to Meghalaya. The best way to enter Meghalaya is to arrive at Guwahati, Assam as it is well connected by trains and flights and then move on to Shillong.

After driving 3-4 hours, we reached Umiam Lake. It is a man-made Reservoir and is one of the most visited sites of Shillong. There is a beautiful Park adjoining the lake, which is a hotspot for picnics and is frequented by locals.

The sunset at the lake is a treat to watch and shouldn't be missed.

The next morning, we set out early for Shillong sightseeing. Shillong is known for its Serenity and natural beauty and is also called "Scotland of the East".

Shillong Peak is the highest point in Shillong. This peak offers a panoramic view of the Shillong city nearby lush greenery nearby.

After visiting Shillong Peak, we returned to Shillong City and went to Ward's Lake.

Ward's Lake, which is also known as Pollock Lake or Nan Polok, is an artificial lake in Shillong, Meghalaya. Located in the centre of the city, it is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Shillong. The lake has a boating facility and a cafeteria.

After spending around 1-2 hours at the beautiful Ward's Lake, we went to the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians.

It is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Shillong and serves as the seat of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Shillong.
