how to update Tick Data:

Step 1: Create a watch list in your trading terminal. To update tick data we must need Symbol, Latest Time, Latest Price and Latest Quantity column in watch list (you may add other columns if you required but those columns are not necessary to get tick data).

Step 2: After creation of watch list, open a Excel sheet and copy or import the watch list from Trading Terminal it to Excel sheet and you should not change the excel sheet name, excel sheet name should be "sheet 1".

After pasting the watch list to Excel, in excel time column should looks like hh:mm:ss (hour:minute:second) format. If time is not looking this format, you should format excel column. To format the column follow below steps:

Move the mouse to column name, a downward arrow will appear then press click, the entire column will be selected.
Right click on the selected column, a window will appear then select Format cell.
A format cell window will appear, in that select Time, after selecting the Time different time formats will appear, in that select hh:mm:ss,(see below image) then press OK.
Step 3: Now open RTF, Go to Settings - RealTime

Here you have to do important setting i.e. you have to specify the required excel columns in RTF.

Under Symbol field specify in which column Symbol is presented in Excel sheet. For example, in excel if symbol is presented in "Column A" then you have select Column A under Symbol field.
Under Time field specify in which column Time is presented in Excel. For example, in excel if Time is presented in Column B then you have select Column B under Time field.
Under Latest Price field specify in which column Latest Price is presented in Excel. For example, in excel if Latest price is presented in Column C then you have select Column C under Latest Price field.
Under Latest Quantity field specify in which column Latest Quantity is presented in Excel. For example, in excel if Latest Quantity is presented in Column D then you have select Column D under Latest Quantity field.
Look at the bellow watch list, in this Symbol is in Column A, Time is in Column C, Latest price is in Column D and Latest Quantity E.

After all these settings press SAVE button in RTF.

Step 4: Open Amibroker, in Amibroker you should do the necessary settings as explained previously to get data.

Step 5: Now in RTF main window press Start RealTime Update button. Now in status teller window you will get a massage that "Excel is Connected and Waiting for Data to Change". When data started to update you will get a massage that "Tick Data is Updating to Amibroker" with Green background color.

Backfilling Intraday Data:

If you want to backfill the data for the symbols presented in excel sheet, Go to Settings - Realtime setting, then select the check box "Get Backfill Data Too"( you can get the backfill data only for the stocks which are mentioned in excel watch list).

After this press save and then press "Star Realtime Update", RTF starts updates backfill data for the watch list in the excel sheet and the starts to update RealTime data.
