Amazing Grace
This arrangement of Amazing Grace is in the style of Floyd Cramer. It was written by Cramer’s grandson Jason Coleman.
The style is often referred to as slip note because it quickly slides from a note just below the melody note to the primary note. Cramer was imitating the country music vocal style where singers slide up to pitches. Another imitation of country singing is that the melody is located in middle voices with harmony notes above and below.
