Ontario’s G7 Dominance OFFICIALLY DESTROYS U.S Tariffs!
Last year was a turning point for Ontario. The world was shifting beneath our feet. Across the border, in the United States, President Trump had been elected, sworn in, and within days, his policies were sending shockwaves through provinces and industries. Ontario, like much of Canada, faced uncertainty. There was no clear federal guidance, no certainty in trade agreements, no rules to follow. Businesses, workers, and families watched nervously, asking themselves: how do we navigate a world where traditional norms no longer apply?
But that uncertainty taught us something invaluable. We learned that with some leaders, with some nations, there are no rules. And once that truth settled in, Ontario realized that our strength does not come from relying on others to stabilize the environment around us—it comes from preparing ourselves, from building resilience, and from acting decisively within our own borders.
As we move forward into 2026, the mandate is clear: focus on prosperity, on resilience, and on working collaboratively—not just within the provincial government, but with all partners across Canada: municipalities, unions, businesses, and the federal government. This is about collective effort, and the message is one of optimism.
I have to tell you, I’ve felt it. Over the holiday season, I received thousands of messages from across Ontario. Every time I responded, the optimism was palpable. People are ready to work. People are ready to rebuild. People are ready to push past turbulence and uncertainty toward opportunity. Yes, there will be challenges. Yes, we will face walls that seem immovable. But like Ontario did during the pandemic, we know how to come together, to put political stripes aside, and to focus on what matters most: keeping people safe, building jobs, and driving the province forward.
And make no mistake, 2026 is going to be a year of action. Our government’s mandate is to protect the people of Ontario from uncertainty, from upheaval, and from external pressures that could destabilize our economy and communities. But protecting Ontarians is not just about defense—it’s about building a province that thrives. It’s about creating an economy that is competitive, resilient, and self-reliant—the envy of the G7.
The numbers speak for themselves. Last year, despite ongoing global economic uncertainty, Ontario welcomed nearly $28 billion in investments, translating into 57,000 new jobs. These aren’t abstract statistics—they are the result of deliberate, pro-worker and pro-business policies that reduce costs, streamline processes, and attract global investors. My number one salesperson, Vic Fidelli, travels the world every day, meeting companies eager to invest tens of millions, hundreds of millions, even billions of dollars in Ontario. That’s a direct vote of confidence in the policies we’ve implemented and the people we represent.
We have lowered the cost of doing business in Ontario by over $12 billion every single year, without raising a single tax—and I pledge that will continue. In fact, taxes have been cut, regulations reduced, and billions are being invested in skills training. Over 750,000 workers have already received advanced training, with over 100,000 finding employment and taking home bigger paychecks, empowering families and strengthening communities.
Of course, 2026 will bring its own challenges. Global trade negotiations—like the ongoing Kuzmont renegotiations—may create uncertainty. But Ontario is prepared. Team Canada is united: federal, provincial, and territorial governments, municipalities, unions, and business leaders—all working together to protect jobs, investments, and economic stability.
Red tape has been slashed to unprecedented levels. Over $1.2 billion of unnecessary bureaucracy has been removed, saving over a million working hours, letting people focus on productive, revenue-generating work instead of filling out paperwork. Professional mobility has been unlocked. New regulations now allow certified professionals moving to Ontario from other provinces to be on the job within 10 days.
Ontario’s growth isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about creating opportunity in emerging and critical sectors. Investments are being made in critical minerals, nuclear energy, life sciences, and defense industries. The Ring of Fire project, one of the most significant mining developments in the world, will see roads built three years ahead of schedule, thanks to historic agreements with First Nations communities and collaboration with the federal government. This development alone is expected to contribute $22 billion to Ontario’s economy, creating over 72,000 new jobs.
