Scotland Tour Itinerary
Day 1 From Glasgow take the A 82 to Dumbarton and Loch Lomond From Loch Lomond take A 83 (Viewpoint at Rest and be Thankful) through Inveraray, take B 8025 to Tayvallich (100 miles)
Day 2 Take B 841 to Crinan (Locks and Canal), take A 816 turn off to B 844 to Easdale Island (walk) A815 to Oban (80 miles)
Day 3 Take A 85, then A828 to Castle Stalker – well worth a look, then continue to A 82 to Glen Coe Pass as far as chairlift, then return on A 82 then ferry across Loch Linnhe, take A 861 then A 830 to Arisaig. (130 miles)
Day 4 Take A 830 to Mallaid (nice beaches at Morar) then return A 830 to Glen Finnan (viaduct and monument) Go to Neptune (7 locks) On to A 82, stop at Commandos’ Monument, then over Oich Suspension Bridge to Invergarry (80 miles)
Day 5 Take A 82 to bottom of Loch Ness (Caledonian Locks), stop at Urquhart Castle. A887 down Glen Moriston, on to A 87 Glen Shies (spectacular views over Loch Cluante). To Eilean Donan Castle (very pretty) over bridge to Skye (115 miles)
Day 6 Tour Skye (nice scenery) to Portree, A 850 to Dunvegan Castle, A 863, then A 87 to Balmacara (115 miles)
Day 7 Take A 890 up Loch Carron, after Ardarroch turn left onto mountain road through Applecross Forest onto Fearnmore, A 896 through Glen Torridon, A 832 stop at Victoria Falls, on to Gairloch (100 miles)
Day 8 Continue on A 832, turn left onto B 805. stop at Incerasdale beach, onto Cove. Return to A 832 (Road on left to Opinan - beach) On A 832 to Corrieshalloch Gorge – walk to suspension bridge and waterfalls, A 835 to Ullapool (80 miles)
Day 9 Continue on A 835, turn left onto West Highlands Rock Road to Achiltibuie and onto Loch Inver (50 miles)
Day 10 Continue on Rock Road via Drumbeg onto A 894 to Laxford Bridge. To A 838 to Lairg – saw Shin Falls (90 miles)
Day 11 On A 839, then A9 to Dornoch, carry on to A 832 to Cromarty; back to A9 through Inverness, to Aviemore (140 miles)
Day 12 Aviemore (Cairngorm Mountain Vernacular Railway to top) continue on A 9 passing Ruthven Barracks to Newtonmore (50 miles)
Day 13 Take A 86 back to Aonach Mor (Gondola ride) to Fort William (60 miles)
Day 14 Down A 82 through Glen Coe pass (Chair Lift to mountain top next to Ben Nevis), continue on A 82, turn off onto B 8074 through Glen Orchy pass (waterfalls), turn left A85 to re-join A 82 down side of Loch Lomond to Balloch. (110 miles)
