Got an invite to go to south east florida to fish with Brian of Pushin Water Kayak Charters ( / tckayakfishing ) and EliasV ( / eliasvaisberg87 .
We woke up in the early morning and launched into some very sketchy conditions, it was blowing southeast at 25mph, making it impossible to get offshore and also to get to the main spot Brian wanted to fish, it didn't take long before I got a big bite and jumped a Tarpon, my first time hooking one, after that we pitched some docks and caught some smaller snook. Once the sun came up there was a lot of surface activity with jacks and a few tarpon busting on mullet, I threw a 1.5oz magictail bucktail with an elias shad trailer and got quite a few jacks before we decided to go try another spot, on my way in I was trolling the same rig and hit a 31" Slot Snook, which we kept for dinner.. The wind was blowing too hard to get out to the 2nd spot and we called it a day, hoping for better weather for the next day.
