Wildfire Alert: Hiking Temporarily Banned in 9 Indonesian National Parks

Описание: ndonesia has temporarily suspended hiking activities in nine major national parks amid the growing threat of wildfires.

Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni said the measure is aimed at protecting hikers while allowing authorities to focus fully on wildfire prevention and control efforts.

An official circular on the temporary restrictions is expected to be issued soon by the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation.

The nine national parks affected are Gunung Semeru, Kerinci Seblat, Gunung Ciremai, Tambora, Manusela, Bukit Baka Bukit Raya, Gunung Gede Pangrango, Gunung Leuser, and Lorentz.

Meanwhile, hiking activities at selected areas such as Gunung Rinjani and Merbabu will continue under strict and intensive monitoring rather than being completely suspended.
