St Cuthberts Way. Walking one of Scotland's Great Trails with my spaniels

Описание: St Cuthbert's Way runs from Melrose Abbey in Scotland to Holy Island in Northumberland. I walked this 100km route in Spring 2025 with my Springer Spaniel Bailey and rescue spaniel Danny and my friend Sharon.

The most fabulous countryside from crossing the Eildon Hills, walking along the River Tweed, beautiful woodland, wide open moorland of the Cheviot Hills and finishing with the pilgrim's crossing across the sands to Holy Island.

Due to the unexpected hot weather, we did have to miss out Wideopen Hill on our third day due to Danny struggling, but it was otherwise an incredible few days.

Day 1 - afternoon walk from Melrose Abbey to Dryburgh Arms Pub in Newton St Bowsells
Day 2 - Newton St Boswells to the Bonjedward garage to catch the bus to Jedburgh where we stayed at the Capon Tree House Hotel
Day 3 - return to the St Cuthberts Way to Morebattle, where we caught the local community bus to Town Yetholm (Air B&b Rubislaw)
Day 4 - Town Yetholm to Wooler where we stayed at Noble Lands
Day 5 - Wooler to West Mains (Lindesfarne Inn)
Day 6 - final section across the causeway to Holy Island
