In this video, you will see the precursor to a spondylolisthesis as it first begins with a shearing of one vertebra on another. This presents itself when a spinal segment loses its stability and the repetitive flexion and extention movements create stress on the pars interarticularis. Eventually the pars fatigues and either lengthens during the re-modelling phases ( like seen here ) or fractures in the case of a spondylolytic spondylolisthesis.
