Why is hail SO BAD in competitive Pokemon?

When we're talking about the best forms of weather offense, it seems that hail isn't talked about as much as rain, sand, or sun (which often see frequent use in high ladder gameplay). As much as I wish it wasn't so, hail simply isn't as viable as other forms of weather in competitive pokemon. To explain why in simple terms, in this video I'll explain the biggest flaws of the playstyle for newcomers and beginners to the team style.
