The placement board can be ordered from Amazon. It makes it easier to teach the dog not to move feet compared to teaching on open ground.open floor.
Have the dog accidently step a foot on the board. Click. Reward. Each time the dog chooses to put feet on it and not move, click, reward. Goal is for the dog to put all 4 feet on the board and choose not to step off the board. No command at this stage is given to the dog to get on the board.
Once the dog figures out if she goes onto the board she will get a reward, put a word to the action (ie "place"). Click. Reward.
Then from here instroduce - sit, down, stand, come, heel. For all these commands, the dog must remain on the placement board.
