I have been living out of my Ford e150 for almost 6 years now! I have driven across the United States more times than I can count, through nearly every single state, And all through Canada as well! It has been a great journey, and I hope you enjoy the tour of my home.

I have taken small breaks from the vanlife here or there, like when I wanted to learn how to ski I got an apartment for 6 months, but for the most part I have been in this van traveling around the country. Some people seem to hate this as if you have to be completely married to the vanlife every second for it to count. I think on the other hand it is the freedom to do whatever you want which makes vanlife so great.
Something I see a lot with van builds today is the prebuilt 100,000$ dollar kits where they are made to try and have EVERYTHING. I do not think that you can have everything in a van. The space is tiny, mine is 60sq ft, you will wind up sacrificing so much trying to have more. Keep it simple I say! This is not a giant home with endless storage and room. It is a vessel to be able to take you to really cool places, and allow you to do really cool things everyday. What is essential to you, and what can you get by without?
My van is a ford e150 econoline, I think the 4.6L engine. It has been good and reliable for me. I am able to fix most problems which have ever arrived by myself with relative ease. It has about 200,000 miles on it at this point and is going strong. Take care of your van and it will take care of you.
