Installing a 12v air conditioner in my campervan 🚐❄️

After giving it more thought and considering how much of a coastal girl I am, I ultimately decided that ditching the rooftop fan was the right move. BUT if I was going to go for it, it had to be the Velit 2000R… This thing is a beast. 🙌

The most notable features of this unit are:
❄️ 20-60 amp power draw (I blasted it on turbo and it pulled 57 amps)
❄️ A quiet/sleep mode
❄️ A low voltage cutoff (which I discovered after installing it!)
❄️ Low profile (7” clearance on the roof)
❄️ Fits in a standard rooftop fan cutout
❄️ It has a fan-only mode that uses very little power
❄️ And last but definitely not least: The bluetooth app. I can control both my heater and AC directly from the Velit app. So cool.

As for ditching my fan, I've also installed a mini exhaust fan on the roof!

Also - Having to rearrange my solar to accommodate the AC unit made me realize I have room for another solar panel! What an all around win…

For those that like the technical details, I’m running the Velit AC with 400ah of lithium battery and 300 watts of solar (maybe 400 soon 👀).

Brb, going to buy a skylight cover so I can enjoy the full potential of my new AC in this 90 degree weather. 😄
