Abstract: The Kitaev quantum double model (1997) has been one of the paradigms for nonabelian anyons and has been studied extensively over the past 30 years. I will introduce the model and its properties, and discuss the complete eigenspectrum of the model, which, surprisingly, has not been calculated until now.
