[KiniNews] MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki today claimed that he has divested all shareholdings in any company since last year.
This is after Bloomberg reported yesterday that Azam had owned 17.7 million shares in the financial services company Velocity Capital Partner Berhad.
In a press conference, Azam stressed that any allegations claiming he still holds assets of any kind are untrue and malicious in intent.
He added that he would be sending a letter of demand (LOD) to Bloomberg over its report.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has urged the Public Service Department (PSD) to publicly state whether Azam had breached the 2024 Public Officers’ Conduct and Disciplinary Management Circular by purchasing an excessive number of shares in the company.
He stressed that principles of integrity, accountability and transparency must be upheld for the official helming of such a critical and important post as the MACC’s chief commissioner.
