Описание: Monsoon 2026: Kerala, Assam & Gujarat On High Alert | Floods, Landslides & Heavy Rain | News9

Heavy rainfall is triggering floods, landslides and severe waterlogging across several parts of India. In Kerala, intense rain has caused landslips and flash floods, with at least three deaths reported in Idukki and Kottayam and several people feared trapped under debris. Rivers have also overflowed, inundating roads and low-lying areas. In Assam, floods continue to affect nearly 1.93 lakh people across five districts, with the death toll from this year’s flooding reaching 80. Meanwhile, Gujarat remains on high alert as the IMD has issued a Red Alert for extremely heavy rainfall, with some areas expected to receive more than 204.5 mm of rain. Authorities have placed disaster response teams on standby amid fears of flash floods, waterlogging and overflowing rivers.
