We are honestly the laziest couple ever, but when it comes to authentic Bengali food in New York City, nothing can stop us 😴➡️🍲.

On Labor Day holiday, we actually traveled 35 miles just to eat at Masalawala & Sons in Brooklyn 🍲. Call it “devotion”… or just a হাংলা কাপল
Travel plan ছিল epic:
🚌 NJ থেকে bus ride → Port Authority
🚇 Subway from Bryant Park → 7th Avenue, Brooklyn
🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ A 40-minute walk (our exercise for the year 💀)

But when we finally sat down, the $100 Bengali feast made it all worth it:
🥟 Puchka (Pani Puri) (street food heaven)
🍤 Bhetki Fish Fry (crispy & golden)
🥘 Chilli Chicken (flavor bomb)
🍛 Mutton Curry (rich & spicy)
🍤 Bhetki Fish Fry (crispy & golden)
🍞 Luchi (fluffy perfection)
🍮 Dessert: Bhapa Doi (yes, that’s real!) & Mango Rasmalai (sweet bliss)

Of course, restaurant-এর আগে আমরা already খেয়ে নিয়েছিলাম Starbucks Chai Latte ☕ আর Egg Muffin 🥪 (কারণ খালি পেটে কেউ তো subway-তে যায় না 😅).

After stuffing ourselves, we decided to explore more of NYC — heading to Roosevelt Island, one of the city’s hidden gems 🌆. We rode the Roosevelt Island Tram 🚡 to Queens and even shared some history of Roosevelt Island.
