The story of Hollow Knight has received a great deal of attention in the seven years since the game released back in 2017, and while there are many reasons for this, I think a big one that is often overlooked is the exceptional way in which the story is told.
In this video, I break down the four fundamental elements of storytelling and show how Team Cherry used each one to drive discovery, reward engagement, and promote mastery in their outstanding debut title.
