Humpback Highlights from the Silver Bank: How Amazing is This?

Описание: This video features some truly fantastic footage of humpback whales. I hope you enjoy it! There is video from above and below the water, and from the air, too. These are the whales Conscious Breath Adventures and our guests see and experience on the Silver Bank.

The Silver Bank is part of the Sanctuary for the Marine Mammals of the Dominican Republic. Every winter thousands of humpbacks gather there for their winter breeding season.

Operating under special permit issued by the Ministry of the Environment & Natural Resources, we transport our guests on week-long cruises into the humpbacks' living room. It is an amazing place!

There is always a risk when putting together a video like this that viewers will think the action is like this all the time. It isn't! This video has some of the best experiences we've had over about ten years. Some, but not all! A video of all the best experiences would be hours long.

But here is the thing. While this kind of action won't happen every day, any of this action can happen on any day! You just never know what you will see when you spend time out among the whales. Sometimes the most innocuous situations can turn into an unbelievably mind-blowing interaction. And remember, these short snippets are all part of behaviors and situations that lasted much longer.

About the audio, the whale song you hear was recorded on the Silver Bank, too, and I dubbed it over so you can have a bit of that experience, too. It's the male humpbacks that sing, no one knows for sure why they do it. Lots of folks think it is to attract a mate but there is more to it than that! If you can figure it out you will probably be both rich AND famous!
