When the position finally opens, he strikes with the central …e4! break, dragging White’s king into the open. The tactical shot …Rxg2+! blows the cover, and the queen chase (…Qf2+, …Qe5+) funnels the king onto the wrong squares. From there it’s clinical: rooks to open files, precise checks, and a smooth liquidation into a winning ending — capped by cool endgame technique. A crisp, calculated takedown to start the event with 0–1.
