This story starts in Lakphat, which was part of the “Silk Route”. It was so prosperous that almost everyone who lived here was a “Lakhpati” and hence the name Lakhpat. But all this changed when a massive earthquake hit this region in the 18th Century and changed the course of the River Indus, turning the prosperous port of Lakhpat, into a “Ghost Town”.
After paying his respects at the revered gurudwara where Guru Nanak Ji stayed, Bob motors to Nirona, a town famous for its arts and crafts. Here Bob meets the famous Rogan Artist Abdul Gafur Khatri, Padma Shri 2019, and learns about rogan art, which has now achieved international fame due to its ancestry and dexterity, and skill of the few remaining artists. This episode has a few more captivating tales too, like the custom made copper bells, and “Rakhals”, or private forest reserves.
