The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) will help NASA, America's space agency host one of three NASA Lunar Exploration Ground Sites (LEGS) communication antennas. South Africa will also help China by officially joined the ILRS in September 2023. This marked a significant step in expanding their space cooperation with China beyond Earth's orbit.
The agreement between the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) and the China National Space Administration (CNSA) will involve collaboration on various aspects of the ILRS.
