The G6134T-58 Vintage Select is a 1958 spec White Penguin with TV Jones Classic pickups and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. As a part of Gretsch’s Vintage Select Series, this guitar has been recreated so that it has authentic 1958 specifications. The White Penguin is essentially a 1958 style Duo Jet done with the White Falcon trim package. The G6134T-58 can be considered a solid body guitar because it's constructed of a solid mahogany back, but due to a heavily chambered body and a 3 ply maple top the guitar retains some of the hollow body tone Gretsch guitars are famous for. Additionally the heavily chambered design makes the guitar very lightweight and well balanced. The voice of the guitar is clear and true with tight bass response and crystal clear treble. The humbucking TV Jones Classic pickups offer very low noise and sound fantastic clean but handle quite a bit of overdrive as well! The guitar is well suited for a multitude of playing styles from jazz to blues and rock & roll. We are a long standing fully authorized independent Gretsch guitar dealer.
