By pumping out the air from your housing, you can confirm watertight integrity before entering the water.
This short video illustrates exactly how the system works.
The housing in the video is the NA-A6300 for the Sony A6300 mirrorless camera. The system works exactly the same with the camera in the housing of course.
In most Nauticam housings, the vacuum and leak detection circuitry come pre-installed, and the valve + handpump are sold separately.
