20 साल बाद भारत को फिर कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स की मेज़बानी मिली है और इस बार राष्ट्रमंडल खेल अहमदाबाद में होंगे. स्कॉटलैंड के ग्लासगो में कॉमनवेल्थ स्पोर्ट्स एग्जीक्यूटिव बोर्ड की बैठक के बाद अहमदाबाद को दो हज़ार तीस के कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स की होस्ट सिटी घोषित किया गया. अहमदाबाद को नाइज़ीरिया के अंबुजा शहर से कड़ी टक्कर मिली, लेकिन आखिरकार बाज़ी अहमदाबाद ने मारी. इससे पहले भारत ने 2010 में कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स की मेज़बानी की थी, उस वक्त ये गेम्स दिल्ली में हुए थे.

After 20 years, India has again been awarded the Commonwealth Games hosting rights, and this time, the Commonwealth Games will be held in Ahmedabad. Following a meeting of the Commonwealth Sports Executive Board in Glasgow, Scotland, Ahmedabad was declared the host city for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Ahmedabad faced stiff competition from Ambuja, Nigeria, but ultimately prevailed. India last hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2010, when the games were held in Delhi.
