Upon defeating Gael in The Ringed City DLC, you will get the "Blood of the Dark Soul". What do you do with the Blood of the Dark Soul?
It can be given to the Painter in the Painted World of Ariandel (Ashes of Ariandel DLC). You'll get some dialogue options, then the usual lore speculation. This video shows both dialogue options.
