In this video, I’ll show you how to design clean, heavy, and modern gated kicks — perfect for Hardcore, Hard Techno, Rawstyle, and Industrial styles. We’ll build the kick fully inside FL Studio using distortion, EQ tricks, and layering. Whether you’re into aggressive uptempo or dark warehouse techno, gated kicks are essential — and this method gives you the tight punch and textured tail these genres need. When doing any type of sound design in FL Studio. It's important to remember that you don't necessarily need expensive plugins. As you saw here the main DIstortion is the Fast distortion and for that signature reverb we used the Fruity Convolver. For these kicks the order of the effects matters quite a bit, specifically for the rumble tail. It's essential that we do the cutting, distortion and reverb in right order.
