So, James Gunn’s DCU is off to a great start, and yet as of recording this we still don’t really have any information about this version of Batman. We know a script is currently being written for Brave and The Bold, and will feature Damian Wayne as Robin. But besides that? Nothing.

The most we have is a silhouette in Creature Commandos, and it’s not much to go off of. Hell, we can’t even really get a good look at his costume.

And so I’m gonna make it myself.

Batman has had a wide array of costumes and designs throughout the years, with completely different colors and textures and tones. But for his “definitive look” it pretty much always consists of the same recurring elements no matter what. A cape, a belt, some pointy ears, and a couple gadgets. So today, I want to go through piece by piece and talk about what I’d like to see out of the DCU’s Batman suit. Pulling from across his history in movies, TV, games, and comics to build a look for the Dark Knight in this new universe.

Well, maybe ignoring one specific incarnation.
