SR-IOV (Single Root I/O Virtualization) is a hardware feature that lets one physical PCIe device—like a network card—appear as many independent devices.
Instead of all traffic going through the host network stack, the NIC itself handles virtualization.
SR-IOV is now supported in the EdgeCDN-X open source CDN built on top of Kubernetes.
