Merung Khotang | Travel Diaries | Episode 08 | Sulav Yatra

Описание: In this Sulav Yatra's "Travel Diaries" Episode, we have come up with a travel video of Merung Hill, Khotang.

Actually, our main goal was to reach Maiyu Hill where we could experience the view of 'Sheep Barn (भेडिगोठ)', 'Yak (चौरीगाई) Shed' and taste fresh 'hardened cheese (छुर्पी). Also, we wanted to know about the lifestyle of the shepherds migrating to such altitude during a particular season.

However, because of the COVID-19 cases found on the way (Dhodre), we had to console ourselves with the visit up to only Merung Hill. Well, although the trek which we were supposed to do was incomplete, it was one hell of travel.

Merung Hill, located at an altitude of around 3000 m in Khotang District, is a paradisaical place from where the districts, Bhojpur and Solukhumbu can be seen. The landscape of tiny hills settled in series, the green and thick forest around, the clouds swirling on top of these, and cattle, sheep, and horses grazing, indeed were the kind of the heavenly views we desperately needed to witness.

Also, on the way, we visited 'Saapsu Dham' which carries importance through religious and historical perspectives.
