Beginner-Friendly SoCal Trail Just 30 Minutes from Los Angeles

Описание: It’s been a while (almost a year) since we’ve experienced a challenging trail. The last handful of trips we’ve done were down smooth washes or basic fire roads. We’ve kind of grown rusty. To kick off a new year of adventures we decided to get reacquainted with our vehicles. So Brad and I planned a low pressure day of wheeling at the nearest trail we could find. As can happen with adventures, plans A and B fell through, so we resorted to plan C….wing it.
We ended up on a wonderful trail, relatively easy, but with optional difficult sections to really test our rigs. We walked away with rejuvenated muscle memory about what gears and configurations to use to match any particular challenge. It was a good confidence boost to work those skills again.
If you’re in the Los Angeles area this is a great trail, right in your backyard. You’ll actually get to spend more time on the trail than pavement, since this 1-2hr trail is only about 30min away from LA.
These “locals only” spots can get crowded, so we cover some trail etiquette that will help you fit right in. Hand signals, who should stop when, and how to pass another vehicle on a tight and winding trail.
